I think that there should be internet censorship. Why? It is for the sake of the young children. Today, most children don't really go on the computer and play the card games or paint. I know because I have a younger brother and I have seen him got on to the internet to play online games or search images for his school works. What I am worry about is when he want to search for images, some naked pictures might accidently appear on the search result. This will make him being all curious on what that picture is about and innocently click on it to view it.

For the Prince Harry issues, The newspaper company blamed the internet for having no censorship and having widespread of images, thus, used the picture of Prince Harry to promote back their newspaper.

I am with you on the danger of non-censorship for kids. It should be the search engine's responsibility to ensure its content safe for children under 18, however the search ability is way too wide and the only way to put out certain content is to de-list it. Which means administrators or staffs of Google have to perform the same search to find what should be censored.
ReplyDeleteWhat you are saying regarding Harry's naked picture though, is that the fact has been made up to gain attention. I only have to oppose that with the article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/03/prince-harry-nude-pics_n_1853028.html
I agree with Farzura to put a censorship especially for children. Because children usually just click anything that come out on screen without thinking first and its not a safe learning.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because I have experience the situation where my younger cousin and I want to search about a comedian but at the end "something wrong" appear on the screen. I automatically fell awkward with that situation.
